Collections Specialist At Choptank Transport in Preston, MD

When you join Choptank Transport, a Hub Group Company as the Collections Specialist you will support the company by calling our customers to collect outstanding debts or organize appropriate payment arrangements.
This position is located at our corporate headquarters at 3601 Choptank Road, Preston, MD 21655.
Responsibilities
- Contacting customers to collect payments
- Negotiate payment arrangements on past due accounts
- Educate our customers on Choptank products and technology such as ORBIT
- Entering accurate and up-to-the-minute information into company systems while ensuring accuracy
- Utilize analytical skills to resolve discrepancies, short payments, and overdue balances
- Communicate and use interpersonal skills with sales and department leaders regarding customer accounts
- Accurately balance customer accounts online while keeping the customer up to date on payment schedules.
Qualifications
- A High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Associates degree in Accounting or Bookkeeping preferred
- Exceptional customer service skills both internally and externally.
- Two or more years of collections or accounts receivable follow up experience preferred
- Strong, professional written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a mathematical environment
- Computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office/Outlook or similar email application
