Systems Engineer, EDA Tools and Licenses
As a Systems Engineer for EDA (Electronic Design Automation) Tools and Licenses in Micron you will be responsible for EDA Tools installations, management, qualification of the tool versions by working closely with the internal CAD teams. You will also be responsible to manage the Flexlm EDA license servers, license installations, troubleshooting license issues and work on day to day EDA tool and license requests.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Qualify EDA Tool versions from different EDA vendors
- Download and install EDA Tools
- Setup module files and configurations files
- Analyze the interaction of EDA tools and the platforms on which they are operating
- Automated EDA tool installations and qualification
- Collaborate with CAD and design teams in multiple geographic locations to understand their workload and flow
- Collaborate with other HPC team members on server and storage technology directions.
- Collaborate with EDA vendor and computing infrastructure vendor technical representatives
- Develop and run standard benchmark tests that accurately measure the performance of EDA tools
- Publish benchmark results and recommendations
- Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend solutions to eliminate them
- Participate in EDA performance related development projects
- Be aware of industry best practices and emerging technologies
- Evaluate optimal license options for EDA tools
Qualifications
- Strong statistical analysis skills and/or high proficiency with the Linux operating system
- Experience with Electronic Design Automation tools and EDA licenses in a semiconductor development environment
- Demonstrated proficiency with predictive analytics
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL commands
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High level of self-motivation
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to manage several concurrent projects or tasks
- Willingness to learn new tools and technologies to support Micron’s changing evolving design computing environments
